Many sites say it is simply a “reminder.” While it is useful for that, I do not think that is its true purpose. We already have the tassels (tiztiz) for that. I think there’s something so much deeper going on. There has to be a very specific reason why Yehovah said to put it on the doorposts
This event came shortly before the Messiah was born. In John 10, it says Yeshua walked around Solomon’s Porch during the winter Feast of Dedication–another name for Hanukkah. That’s what really piqued my interest. Did Yeshua celebrate Hanukkah?
The grief and rage from what happened in the Black Death still resonate in us today. Our very DNA seems to remember it. Having learned our lesson, we now have toilets and sanitation available even for the poorest among us. The very sight of a rat or mouse produces dread and horror–and some don’t even know exactly why they react that way.
Why does anything matter? It is a valid question. Often times, however, the answer is simply ignored because the follow-up question (“What do I do about it?”) is too overwhelming or distasteful. I’m guilty of it too. Today, I want to answer that question so I don’t forget it. Why does any of this matter? […]
Should we follow the Torah? This question comes in many forms, all of which are worthy of discussion. For Part 1 of this series, I’ll be answering this version: Didn’t Yeshua do away with the Torah? Let’s examine this more closely. Christians all agree: all have sinned Yeshua paid the price for sin Through believing […]
I collected many of my favorite “Love” verses from the scriptures. Read and soak in YHWH’s amazing love! “I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” (Zech 3:4 ESV) “When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son… How can […]
How could Love create Hell? How could a Justice create Heaven? Christians struggle to answer this seeming “paradox,” but it is not a paradox at all. The truth is that they should never have been separated at all! They are One Person. Love is Justice and Justice is Love. That is not a paradox too […]
The title is a bit clickbaity, I’ll admit. Yes, I believe every literal word of the Bible. Yes, I believe in heaven. Let me explain. I’m troubled by the attitude of traditional Christians I grew up with. Our parents are Pentecostal, as are my Mom’s parents. My Dad’s mom is a traditional Baptist. They believe […]
(A sneak peek of my book. Let me know what you think!) It is no secret among Bible-believing Christians that Yeshua has a special fondness for children. At times it seems as if He loves them more than adults. Why do you think Yeshua loves children so much? Ask yourself that question. What comes to […]
(A sneak peek of my book. Let me know what you think!) I don’t believe in “Your truth, my truth” exactly. I just believe there’s always more to the story than what meets the eye. It’s always worth it to empathize and really see through another person’s eyes. You’ll always find that glimmer of truth. […]
